The right mix of web services for smaller organizations
New York Harbor Parks
An online guide to parks, historic sites and cultural destinations on New York Harbor
National Parks of New York Harbor Conservancy
The client needed a website and social media to promote the NYC subdivision of the National Parks, which, in addition to the Statue of Liberty, includes many lesser known gems.
We developed an online guide to all the major destinations on the harbor — including city parks and cultural institutions — to capture the largest possible audience for the national parks. We also created an enewsletter promoting park events and set the client up on social media.
OF SPECIAL NOTE
The site includes a custom map, calendar, activities guide and virtual and downloadable tours.
All content is original and geared to what people really want to know, which has led to top rankings for many pages.
We found unconventional ways to build interest in the parks off-site — e.g., by expanding their Wikipedia entries.
The site, which was designed in 2008, continues to get hundreds of thousands of visits a year with only minor enhancements.
We write and produce the newsletter, which averages click rates of 24%. Recently we converted it to a mobile responsive template.
